Tottenham Hotspur suffered a second successive defeat in the Premier League on Saturday. They lost 2-1 away to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Wolves vs Spurs match started with a bang as the Lilywhites took the lead as early as the third minute through Brennan Johnson. However, Tottenham conceded two in the stoppage time of second half to lose the match. Pablo Sarabia scored perhaps the best goal of the match to draw the hosts level in the 91st minute.
Wolves were pushing hard since the second half for an equaliser against a depleted Tottenham who were without several key players including James Maddison, Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero.
The moment finally arrived after the end of regulation time as Sarabia produced a wonderful finish. Cunha got the assist for the goal with a perfectly weighted pass over the top of Spurs’ backline to Sarabia. Sarabia, who was substituted just minutes before, took a great touch on his right foot before volleying past Vicario on his left.
Wolves scored the winner in the 97th minute to complete the turnaround. Mario Lemina stepped up to win the game for Wolves.

Wolves were looking to bounce back from a frustrating defeat, having become the first team to lose to Sheffield United in 2023-24 last week. Spurs were coming off a 4-1 defeat to Chelsea. Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou had to play with nine men in the later half of that match after Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie saw a red card each.
The defeat saw Tottenham move to the third spot of the Premier League table. Postecoglou’s men were top of the table until their match against Chelsea last week.
Now Tottenham will have to fight for a turnaround with several key players unavailable for selection.
