Bruno Fernandes was one of the stars who followed Varane’s lead – immediately going to the Red Devils supporters in the corner of the stadium to clap. The moment, which has been shared on Twitter, caused plenty of reactions on social media.
One fan said, ‘Our only leader.’ Another shared: ‘The only one who didn’t stop trying.’ A third fan said, ‘Can’t believe I saw some of them walk off straight away.’
