After jumping the fences to celebrate with Erling Haaland, a Manchester City fan couldn’t contain his joy. With a fantastic goal, the striker put Manchester City ahead of Sheffield United.
City were missing captain Kevin De Bruyne, who had hamstring surgery. As City attempted to find a way through, Haaland had already missed a penalty against the Blades. But the Norwegian striker ultimately broke through with a close-range header from a cross from Jack Grealish.
A supporter jumped from the stands onto the pitch as he rushed off to celebrate. He then jumped atop Haaland’s back, attempting to join in City’s jubilation.
Despite the intruder attempting to kiss his neck, the forward did not seemed surprised by the encounter. But teammate Bernardo Silva was evidently taken aback by the fan’s ability to cling on Haaland for so long. However, security quickly arrived on the situation and tackled the fan before dragging him away from the pitch.
The game took an unexpected turn in the 85th minute when Sheffield levelled. The English champions restored the lead through Rodri, who scored off an unintentional assist from Phil Foden.
Guardiola would have expected a better result if his team had not been tense. It came after dominating the game and taking 30 shots, nine of which were successful.
