Vinicius Jr Racism Row: Translation of the Tweet
“Once again, instead of criticizing racists, the president of LaLiga appears on social media to attack me. As much as you talk and pretend not to read, the image of your championship is shaken. See the responses to your posts and have a surprise. Omitting yourself only makes you equal to racists. I’m not your friend to talk about racism. I want actions and punishments. Hashtag doesn’t move me.“
The spectators directed continuous racist slurs towards the winger, leading to a momentary pause in the game as Vinicius and his teammates identified an instigator in the crowd.

Furthermore, he engaged in a physical altercation with Hugo Duro, requiring his teammates’ intervention to restrain him.
In the dying moments of second-half stoppage time, Vinicius was shown a red card for violent behavior, as he retaliated against Duro, who had his arm around Vinicius’ neck.
Real Madrid Manager in Support of Vinicius Jr.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti publicly supported Vinicius Jr. and strongly criticized La Liga officials, emphasizing that the league is facing a significant issue with racism and that it is not being adequately addressed.
Ancelotti highlighted that the entire stadium subjected Vinicius to racial abuse and expressed his belief that the match should have been halted promptly. Speaking to the media following the game, he stated:
“They should have suspended the match then and there. It wasn’t one person. It was a whole stadium that went crazy. I had never before seen a whole stadium being racist. Maybe I’ve seen a few people being racist, but I had never seen that from a whole stadium.”
“What happened today I have seen other times, but not quite like this. This was unacceptable. This league has a racism problem. The problem isn’t Vinícius. He is the victim. What should be done? I’m not the best placed person to answer that, but you can’t play football like this.”
