Erling Haaland of Manchester City praised Real Madrid starlet Jude Bellingham after he scored his first El Clasico goals on Saturday. Haaland was as surprised as everyone else when his old Borussia Dortmund teammate scored a brace to propel Los Blancos to victory.
With Real Madrid behind early on via to Ilkay Gundogan’s goal, Bellingham grabbed charge in the second half. He drove Los Blancos level from a distance before sneaking in unnoticed to end the game in extra time.
Bellingham’s former Dortmund partner-in-crime, Haaland, was watching at home and joined the praise on social media. “Unreal this guy,” the Norwegian captioned a video of Bellingham’s first goal, which arrowed past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Bellingham has now scored 13 goals for the La Liga leaders in as many games. Haaland has 14 points this season to go along with an astounding 11 assists. He’ll be desperate to add to his tally against United.
During Sunday’s match against Manchester United, the Norwegian will play his own derby. In the midweek Champions League matchup against Young Boys, the goal machine netted twice to break a five-game drought in the tournament.
He leads the Premier League in scoring with nine, although he has failed to score in the past two encounters with United. More over a year ago, he scored a magnificent hat-trick in a 6-3 thrashing of the Reds.
