The scoreline was Chelsea 1 Villarreal 1 at the end of regulation time. In a dramatic penalty shootout Subsitute keeper Kepa turned out to be Blues hero as they triumphed 6-5 to lift the trophy.

UEFA Super Cup – Chelsea Wins Super Cup: To everyone’s surprise Blue’s Gamble-Man Thomas Tuchel changed goalkeepers just few minutes before the shoot-out. He brought on Kepa Arrizabalaga in place of Edouard Mendy who had not put a foot wrong.
And the Sub goalkeeper Kepa saved captain Raul Albiol’s spot-kick at Windsor Park to give Chelsea dramatic victory in the shootout.

Hakim Ziyech opened the scoring midway through the opening 45 minutes but was then forced off with what looked like a worrying shoulder injury before half-time.
The Spaniards hit the woodwork either side of the break before Gerard Moreno equalised in the 73rd minute to force extra time.
Chelsea, who look set to complete a deal to re-sign striker Romelu Lukaku for a club record fee of £97.5m from Inter Milan, failed to rediscover their first-half vigour in extra time but did come close to a winner through Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount.
But finally in the shootout, bold move by Tuchel paid & Chelsea won 1st trophy of the season.
