After FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Championship is the most awaited tournment in football world. A one-month long event will have legendary football players greasing the event. The UEFA European Championship will begin on June 14 in Germany.
Germany and Spain are the most successful teams in the tournament which was established in 1960. Germany claimed the title in 1972, 1980, and 1996 across six final appearances. While, Spain secured victories in 1964, 2008, and 2012 after competing in four finals.
In the first edition of the UEFA European Championship which was called UEFA European Nations Cup back then, Soviet Union emerged victories after beating Yugoslavia 2-1.
Italy are the defending champions who clinched trophy in EURO 2020-21, defeating England at the Wembley Stadium. Azzurri goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma’s heroic efforts in the penalty shootout led Italy to become the Euro 2020 champions.
