The Premier League returns for the 2024/25 season, kicking off with Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United facing Fulham in the opening match on Friday, August 16.

The English football league system’s top division is called the Premier League. It is contested by 20 clubs and uses the English Football League’s (EFL) promotion and relegation system. Each side plays 38 games over a season, which typically lasts from August to May. Two of the matches are played at home and one away from each other. With a few rare weeknight evening matches, most games take place on weekends in the afternoons.

Erling Haaland

In his debut season, Haaland broke several records, including the most goals in a single Premier League season, surpassing the previous record of 34 goals held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer.
