Despite being considered as a potential candidate for the role at Tottenham, some individuals within the north London club reportedly have concerns about the lack of experience possessed by the former Belgium defender. According to Mail Sport, his name is one of several being considered for the position.
Vincent Kompany as a manager
After spending two years at Anderlecht, Kompany made the move to Burnley ahead of the current season. Although there are concerns about his limited experience in management, there is support from behind the scenes for Kompany to be appointed as Tottenham Hotspur’s new long-term head coach.
Despite concerns regarding the brevity of the 37-year-old’s management career, there is support behind the scenes for Kompany to become Tottenham Hotspur’s new long-term head coach.
Simon Davies, the head of coaching methodology for the club, has a prior relationship with Kompany from their time working together at Anderlecht.
Tottenham Hotspur has observed how Mikel Arteta, who lacked managerial experience, transformed Arsenal into title contender and believes that a comparable appointment of Kompany could also be advantageous.
Burnley ready to hold onto Kompany
Despite the significant accomplishments that Kompany has achieved since joining Burnley in June, the club is intent on retaining the former center-back and is ready to propose an enhanced contract to entice him to remain, even though his current agreement still has at least three years remaining.
Tottenham Hotspur appears to be strongly in favor of hiring former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann.
The club has reached out to determine whether Nagelsmann would be willing to take over as the next full-time manager following Antonio Conte’s departure and whether he would be available to assume the position immediately.
Nonetheless, Chelsea is also considering the German coach, and it appears that Nagelsmann favors a transfer to Stamford Bridge. However, Tottenham Hotspur’s qualification for the Champions League might be a factor that influences his decision.
