After sacking Jose Mourinho in April and failing to secure the services of several high-profile managers, they eventually appointed Nuno Espirito Santo, who was dismissed after only 10 Premier League games before being replaced by Conte.
Conte had signed an 18-month contract in November 2021, with the option of an additional year, and led the team to a fourth-place finish in the previous season.
Despite spending £170m during the summer transfer window, Tottenham is struggling to secure a top-four finish by May, trailing 18 points behind their arch-rivals and the top-ranked Gunners.
