Todd Boehly vs Chelsea Fans: Chelsea are having a nightmare season as they are yet to recover from turmoil owing to changes in ownership, management, and squad. In the midst of that, Todd Boehly’s good time as the owner seems to have ended before it could begin properly. Images have emerged that show that the American businessman got involved in a row with fans during the Chelsea vs Brighton match at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea owner Todd Boehly was present for Chelsea’s this weekend fixture against Brighton at Stamford Bridge. Connor Gallagher helped Chelsea take the lead only 13 minutes into the game. However, Danny Welbeck equalized for Brighton before the end of the first half. Then Brighton’s young newcomer 19-year-old scored a screamer that put them in the lead and eventually won them the match.
Chelsea next face the mighty Los Blancos in the Champions League quarter-final 2nd leg where they are already trailing by 2 goals. After their defeat to Brighton, coach Lampard was brutal as he said, “It wasn’t good enough. All the basic parts of football — to fight, to run – we were short on… In the basics of football we were short — a yard short, a tackle short, a fighting duel moment short.”
Boehly was present at the director’s box for the entire match and he did not look happy in the pictures that emerged on the internet afterward. He even had a row with the fans who were leaning on the railing above the director’s box. One fan joked about the row and said that Boehly was saying, “Don’t blame me. It was James Corden who picked Frank Lampard.”
This refers to the influence of comedian James Corden who reportedly suggested to Boehly that he should bring back Lampard as Chelsea’s interim manager. Todd Boehly bought Chelsea last May for £4.25 billion from Roman Abramovich. Since then, he has changed Chelsea’s management and almost re-did the squad. He spent a whopping £600 million to buy more star players.

Chelsea ended up with a bloated squad of 31 players full of star players. They have also had three managers in the span of a single season. They sacked Thomas Tuchel who brought them three titles including a Champions League during his time. Graham Potter took over in October after him. He stayed for six months, where he won 11, drew 8, and lost 9 Premier League matches.
Chelsea already fell into deep trouble before they sacked Potter and decided to bring back Frank Lampard. Since coming back, Lampard has managed to lose all three matches he has managed. Now, Chelsea is sitting in the middle of the Premier League table in the 11th position. The worse news is, they are closer to the relegation zone with only 12 points separating them than the Champions League qualification zone with a whopping 17-point gap.
