It is safe to say that David De Gea has been stuck in a limbo for a while now. He was close to signing an extension with Manchester United, but the Red Devils pulled out at the last moment. Then, there were rumors that Real Madrid would buy him, as Courtois got injured.
But, the Los Blancos went ahead with signing Kepa. Bayern Munich were said to be interested in signing David De Gea as Manuel Neuer got injured.
New reports say that Bayern coach, Thomas Tuchel has decided to veto the move for the Spanish keeper this summer.
David De Gea move to Bayern off
According to sources in Germany, David de Gea’s intended transfer to Bayern Munich has been canceled. The stopper had a good overall season last year, but he made a few high-profile errors and manager Erik ten Hag reneged on a contract offer. This allowed the stopper to leave for free when his contract expired.
Due to the injury of No. 1 Manuel Neuer, German powerhouse Bayern Munich was rumored to be in negotiations for a deal with the 32-year-old free agent.
But Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg tweeted, ‘FC Bayern will also not sign David De Gea. It’s decided. Tuchel has vetoed it, especially since a return of Manuel Neuer is expected within the next few weeks.
The tweet continued, ‘As reported: Tuchel was pushing for (Manchester City deputy Stefan) Ortega and had a phone call with him – but the deal is close to be off now. Talks with De Gea took place. He was willing to join FC Bayern. But it’s off now.’
Bayern might stick with Neuer and Ulreich
Following a strange skiing accident that resulted in him breaking his leg, Neuer, 37, is making a full recovery. But is still expected to be out of action for a while. In Bayern’s opening German Super Cup match of the year against RB Leipzig, Sven Ulreich, his backup, was in goal, but Tuchel and company were defeated 3-0.
According to Plettenberg, Bayern is content to get by with Ulreich until Neuer, who is expected to make a comeback in a few weeks, is able to play again. Additionally, it was said that Bayern, who lost their first-choice goalkeeper Yann Sommer to Inter Milan last season, couldn’t afford David De Gea’s salary demands.

Real Madrid is rumored to have passed up the opportunity to acquire David De Gea for nothing. Instead, they favored loaning Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to fill in for the injured Thibaut Courtois.
According to reports, Bayern is ‘in the final stages‘ of buying Maccabi Tel Aviv goalkeeper Daniel Peretz since Manchester City won’t sell Ederson’s backup, Stefan Ortega.
