Lionel Messi: The relationship between PSG and Leo Messi has worsened over time. With this, a section of PSG fans, especially the PSG Ultras started to boo Messi. Their dislike towards the player could be caused by Leo Messi’s subdued form at PSG and that Messi and Co. defeated France in the World Cup 2022 final. This booing has become a regular thing and now his teammate Marquinhos has come ahead to support him against the booing. Follow Ligue 1 LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

PSG Ultras have been booing Lionel Messi in several matches. As a result, his teammate Marquinhos has stood up for him and told the Ultras that no player should be blamed alone in the game. He said, “I always respect protests when they are peaceful, at the times and places where it is necessary. Above all, I ask the supporters not to target one player or another. It must always be collective. A player doesn’t walk on his own, he’s not going to do anything on his own.”

Marquinhos is not the only player who has stood up for Leo Messi against the booing from PSG Ultras. Both Danilo Pereira and Renato Sanches also said previously that these “hurt” the entire team and not just one player. Coach Christophe Galtier has also praised the Argentine for his ability to handle criticisms and these negative things with such professionalism. His former Barcelona teammate and now PSG teammate has also been trying to lift up the player’s mood via video call reunions with Luis Suarez.

PSG brought in Lionel Messi with the hopes of winning the Champions League with the help of the footballing superstar. However, PSG’s dream has not come true even with some of this generation’s best footballers, Leo Messi, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Sergio Ramos, and more. In the meantime, Messi has shown some extraordinary form for the Argentina national team. He even helped the Argentina team win the World Cup last year and in the process, he defeated France in the final.

Messi’s contract with PSG expires at the end of this season in June. PSG have tried to sign the player several times, but Messi will probably leave the club after the season ends. Messi’s father and agent Jorge Messi still said that any decision on the player’s future will be taken once the season ends. However, there have been several rumours as to where Messi could go next season. Most significant transfer rumours have been around his return to Barcelona, move to MLS club Inter Miami, and move to Saudi club Al-Hilal.

As per reports, Al-Hilal have offered the player more than $500 million. In the midst of the confusion, Messi visited Saudi Arabia a few days ago for his work as their tourism ambassador. However, there were miscommunication issues with PSG which resulted in Messi being suspended for two weeks by PSG. Following that, Messi apologised publicly and the matter was closed. However, this sparked the transfer rumours more and caused his relationship between him and the club along with the fans worsened.
