Critics of La Roja argue that the team has yet to endure an acid test. In the group stage, Spain was defeated 4-0 by Japan. They did, however, overcome 2019 runners-up the Netherlands 2-1 in the quarterfinals. Alexias Putellas and company will be eager to prove their sceptics wrong once more, and they appear to have the determination.

Sweden has reached this stage for the fifth time. They were runner-up once. The final prize, however, remains a distant mirage – possibly for real this time. Sweden is currently gaining momentum and will not accept anything less.

Blagult are getting a lot of positive feedback. Defeating two former champions, the United States and Japan, is confirmation that the Swedes are ready for anything. Spain and Sweden have met twice, with both games finishing in a 1-1 tie and a 1-0 victory for Sweden.
