Spain vs Georgia Live: Euro Qualifiers LIVE – ESP vs GEO LIVE – Spain welcome Georgia in the hopes of ending the Euro qualifiers campaign at the top of their group table. La Roja only need a point to achieve that feat. However, they will still try to get a win against Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and his team. Georgia are sitting in 4th place in the group table and are already qualified for the play-offs. It still doesn’t help their case against Spain with their last meeting ending in a 7-1 thrashing of Georgia.

Spain have managed to win 6 of the 7 Euro qualifiers they’ve played so far. With 18 points, they are sitting at the top of the Group A table. Their only defeat came against 2nd-placed Scotland on the road back in March. Both Spain and Scotland have already qualified for the Euro 2024 finals.

However, the fight now remains for a spot in Pot 1. A win will see them easily achieve that. Even a draw can confirm that Spain have a greater goal difference than Scotland while they are level on categories of head-to-head stats.

Georgia are sitting in 4th place in the Group A table with 3 defeats, 2 wins, and 2 draws. Even so, they have already qualified for the play-offs as they were the highest-ranked team in the Nations League’s third tier.

Georgia’s rapid rise has seen them move up from League D to League B since the Nations League started in 2018. They will still try to get a win against La Roja. However, it will be tough considering their last 3 matches out of 4 on the road ended in defeats.

Spain Team News

  • Manchester City midfielder Rodri sustained an injury and he kept feeling some discomfort during the training session before Spain’s last match against Cyprus. As a result, the coach did not risk him in that match and Rodri will remain to be a doubt for their next match against Georgia.
  • Jose Gaya who sustained a knee injury before the international break started, missed their last match. He is set to miss the next match as well. Additionally, in their last match, near the end of the first half, Mikel Oyarzabal sustained a hamstring issue. The goalscorer will return to Real Sociedad as early as possible.
  • In the absence of Oyarzabal, Athletic Bilbao’s 21-year-old starlet Nico Williams is the front-runner to replace him. However, his Basque teammate Unai Simon failed to start the previous match ahead of his competition, Arsenal’s David Raya for the goalkeeper’s position. It’s still unknown whether the coach will make the same choice another time.

Georgia Team News

  • Georgia also sustained two injuries in their last clash against Scotland. Luka Lochoshvili and Levan Shengelia sustained injuries one after another in the span of 6 minutes in the second half of that match.
  • Shengelia was clutching his shoulder before he was taken away when he went down. Hence, the coach could should not risk him after the injury still seem to be bothering the player. In that case, Irakli Azarovi should be starting in the absence of Shengelia.
  • Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored a brace against Scotland in their last match which brought his tally too 14 goals in 27 matches and he became the 4th highest goalscorer for his nation with that. The 22-year-old star only needs to score 13 more goals to become his country’s highest goalscorer by taking over Shota Arveladze.
