At one point, the ceremony’s host, former Chelsea player Didier Drogba, had to step in and tell the audience to honour the winner of the award. The veteran striker asked the hecklers to cease and give the World Cup champion some dignity.
The custodian had earlier been the target of jeers from France supporters as he and his wife, Amanda Gama, entered the Theatre du Chatelet.The 31-year-old will play for his team in their Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
