Rafael Leao received his second booking of the UEFA Euro 2024, and will miss Portugal’s last group stage match against Georgia. After Samet Akaydin challenged the AC Milan player, the player was booked for simulation against Turkey. Leao was immediately penalized and booked for his act of simulation after he threw himself to the ground in an attempt to draw a foul.
Leao creates unwanted record
Rafael Leao has made his own unwanted record after receiving a yellow card for diving against the Czech Republic in their Euro 2024 opener as well. The forward became the first player in the history of the European Championship to receive two bookings for simulation in a single tournament.
