Today, Romero reports that the decision has been taken, and the announcement could come next week through a press conference. It is deeply saddening that the news has broken through today, ahead of Xavi’s first game as Barcelona manager, against derby rivals Espanyol no less.
Aguero’s debut for Barcelona was delayed by three months after he picked up an injury in training. However, he was able to score for the garnet and blue — against Real Madrid in the 2-1 loss on 24th October.
Aguero was rushed to hospital following Barca’s 1-1 draw with Alaves at the end of October after suffering from chest pains and breathing difficulties.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Aguero was then diagnosed with a ‘cardiac arrhythmia’ or irregular heartbeat. Further checks were then scheduled for Aguero and journalist Gerard Romero has claimed that those have led to the decision that he will retire from football.
The report claims Barcelona have been made aware and a press conference will be pencilled in next week to confirm his plans for the future.
Lionel Messi and Co. were pictured with a banner before kick-off which had a picture of their compatriot along with the message, “We are all with you Kun”.
