Wrexham AFC tried to sign former Real Madrid and Tottenham star Gareth Bale but the deal didn’t happen. Hollywood actors are certainly attracted to this club, with Ryan Reynolds being the main reason. Natalie Portman is the latest name on this list.
Portman gives a challenge for Reynolds and his team in a conversation with Entertainment Tonight. She talked to Entertainment Tonight, “I was lucky enough to speak to Ryan about his foray, it’s very inspiring what he’s done with Wrexham and they’ve got a women’s team as well. We’ve talked about having some friendly matches at some point.”
Natalie Portman also owns a club and she is a co-founder of Angel City. This team was set up in 2020 and played in the US National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Some other celebs are also attracted to the Welsh club including Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Garner, and Eva Longoria. Former players Cobi Jones and Abby Wambach are also in the wishlist.
Reynolds, McElhenney, and the players were paraded on open-top buses in the streets surrounding the Racecourse Ground after earning the promotion. Reynolds will take the players to Las Vegas, as he promised them earlier as the reward for promotion.
