Fernando Santos has been sacked from the Poland national team after just six games in charge.
The news comes just within the space of nine months since the Portuguese national football team dismissed the coach after a disagreement between him and Cristiano Ronaldo over the management of the team.
The 68-year-old managed the side in 109 games. Santos won the Euro 2016 and the Nations League 2019 during his time in the Portuguese national team.
However, Santos started losing control of the dressing room during Qatar World Cup 2022.

It started with Portugal’s final group stage game against South Korea. Ronaldo appeared to swear at Santos when he was being subbed off. Portugal lost the match 2-1.
Ronaldo was left out of Portugal’s next ro16 game against Switzerland, as well as the quarter-final against Morocco.
Santos was swiftly shown the door after Morocco knocked out Portugal.
Poland came knocking soon. The Polish FA reached out to Santos at the start of the year after sacking Czeslaw Michniewicz following their World Cup last-16 exit to France.
However, the honeymoon ended abruptly with Poland losing in three of the five Euro qualifiers.
Following a 2-0 loss in Albania, Santos’s tenure in the national team has come to an end.
A Polish FA statement said: “The Polish Football Association informs that as of September 13, 2023, coach Fernando Santos ceased to be the coach of the Polish national team.”
The head of the FA Cezary Kulesza said: “I would like to thank coach Santos for his work with the national team and I wish him good luck in his next challenges.”
Santos said, “Even though we are ending our cooperation, I am grateful to have led the Polish national team and I wish all the best to Poland and its people, who welcomed me so well when I lived here.”
