Manchester United swooped in and completed a sensational return for Cristiano Ronaldo snatching up the Portuguese forward this summer. The 36-year-old decided to leave Juventus with the Red Devils jumping on the opportunity to bring their former player back to Old Trafford.
THe ex-Madrid ace left Old Trafford back in 2009 and is now set to make his return after the international break. Ronaldo could make his second debut for the Red Devils when they take on Newcastle on September 11. The news of Ronaldo joining United even shocked Man United players. It has created a certain buzz around the club with players also excited at Ronaldo’s return.
Man United goalkeeper was asked to express his opinion on the sensational transfer on Sunday. The Spains shot-stopper was quoted by Sky Sports saying, “Who? (laughs) Well, thing is like a dream for all Man United fans, it’s going to be great you can feel it in the atmosphere, hopefully he can bring something special to make the team better.”
Paul Pogba on the other end went on to add that having such a legend in the team will be beneficial for the squad. The Frenchman goes all claims how Ronaldo has been a serial winner throughout his career and that he is looking to feed off that mindset from the Portuguese.
He added: “Everyone knows he’s already a legend at this club to have him back is huge, he’ll bring his experience, quality and when he comes the level goes up. We’re pleased that he’s coming, the most important today was the win and when he comes we keep this mentality.”
United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be delighted with the way the Red Devils’ have approached the transfer window. They have already acquired the services of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Reds were said to look for a striker in and have gone on to add more firepower in their attacking line through Ronaldo’s signing. It will bolster the United team as they look to battle arch-rivals Manchester City alongside the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea for the Premier League title this season.
