In the wake of Monday’s 7.7-magnitude earthquake, which caused hundreds of structures to fall and at least one professional football player to die, Demiral promised to do whatever he can to help those affected by the natural disaster. He has a signed Ronaldo shirt from his time at Juventus in his own kit collection, and after chatting with the Al-Nassr forward, he will auction the item.
Authorities and medical sources estimated that more than 9,500 people have died and many more have been injured as rescue operations for those still buried beneath the rubble continue. The latest death toll given by Turkey was 6,957, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths in Turkey and Syria to 9,504. On Wednesday, Syrian official media and rescuers announced that 2,547 people had perished in the earthquake.

Demiral, who now plays for Atalanta, was a teammate of Ronaldo’s at Juventus. The 24-year-old has 35 senior caps with Turkey at the international level. Tens of thousands of people liked Demiral’s post right away, and now other football players are selling their own memorabilia. In a subsequent tweet, he stated: “I then spoke with Leonardo Bonucci. He conveyed his sorrow and remarked that Turkey supports our people. Additionally, he claimed to have provided a signed Juventus jersey.”
Demiral prefers to give to the Turkish charity Ahbap, while other international groups now taking donations as they assist those in need in Turkey and Syria include the Turkish Red Crescent and Save The Children.
