Since then, the incident’s video has become very popular on social media. Ronaldo played 90 minutes on Sunday with the fewest touches (40) of any outfield player. He had four shots, but just one was on target. CR7 was caught offside four times, lost all four of his ground battles, and he was dispossessed twice, due to which the opposition regained possession of the ball.
Messi overtakes Ronaldo’s European Milestone
Another reason for the frustration could also be due to the fact that Messi overtook Ronaldo in the most club goals scored in Europe. This past weekend, Messi scored in Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 victory at Nice in Ligue 1. Currently, Messi leads the legendary Real Madrid scorer with 702 goals. Messi has played in 846 fewer games (846 vs. 949) than the Portuguese to reach the milestone.

Overall, Ronaldo has 11 more club goals than Messi, but those 11 have come outside of Europe, for Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia. Messi has scored 702 goals in total, of which 672 have come for Barcelona in 778 matches and 30 for PSG in 68 contests. Moreover, he has 336 assists.
While playing for Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo scored 450 goals in 438 games, 145 for Manchester United in 346 games, and 101 for Juventus in 134 games. Additionally, he added five goals for Sporting CP in 31 games. Before joining Al-Nassr, Ronaldo had 225 assists in club football.
