Real Madrid vs Valencia: Los Blancos look to extend winning streaks in La Liga

Real Madrid could grab the table-toppers spot if they win against Valencia.

Real Madrid vs Valencia Live: La Liga LIVE – RMA vs VAL LIVE – Real Madrid look to go back to winning ways in La Liga as they welcome Valencia in Santiago Bernabeu. Los Blancos are approaching the match on the back of a 3-0 win against Braga in the Champions League. However, they have won only 1 in their last 3 matches in the domestic league. Whereas, their opponent Los Che are coming on the back of a 1-0 win over Granada in La Liga last weekend. They are also unbeaten in their last 5 games in the domestic league.

With only a single defeat, 9 wins, and 2 draws, Real Madrid are 2nd in the La Liga table. They are trailing Girona by 2 points sitting at the top of the table. They have started the season well. However, in the last 3 La Liga matches, they’ve only won 1 match.

That came in the El Clasico at the end of October. However, they’ve just managed to win their 4th consecutive win in the Champions League. With that they’ve qualified for the knockout stages with 2 games still in hand.

Valencia finished last season in 16th place in La Liga table. That was their worst record since they were relegated to the second division back in the 1985-86 season. However, their start to the season hasn’t been all bad. They’ve won 5, lost 4, and drawn 3 matches.

Los Che are currently sitting in 8th place with 18 points, only 2 points behind European competition’s qualification zone. They are approaching the match on the back of a 5-match unbeaten run where they’ve won 3 of their last 4 games.

Real Madrid Team News

  • Real Madrid already have a number of injury concerns and it seems to be growing rather than slowing down. Current first-choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga sustained a muscular issue during the warm-up before their Champions League clash against Braga. Hence, Andriy Lunin will be starting the match under the bars.
  • In their already long list of injuries, Aurelien Tchouameni will remain out of the field till December due to a broken foot. On the other hand, both Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao will take some time to recover from their serious knee injuries.
  • Dani Ceballos recently came back to train with the first team after recovering from a muscular issue. However, he still remains a doubt for this match. Antonio Rudiger will also miss the match as he will serve his 1-game suspension. Hence, the coach could start Nacho in the middle.
  • Jude Bellingham only remained a substitute for their midweek clash in the Champions League due to a sore shoulder. However, he should make a return here in the starting XI. Additionally, David Alada and Dani Carvajal could come back to the starting lineup as well.

Valencia Team News

  • Valencia have 4 players in the medical room who will remain a doubt for this match. Alberto Mari is suffering from a thigh injury, Mouctar Diakhaby is out due to a hamstring issue, and Andre Almeida is nursing a back problem which could keep him out till late November.
  • Jesus Vazquez was suffering from a motor-neurone condition that could’ve ended his career. However, the 20-year-old has undergone rehabilitation for some time and could finally make a comeback against Los Blancos.
  • Selim Amallah was taken off during their last match against Granada last week due to an injury. He will remain a doubt for the match which could see the coach playing Dimitri Foulquier in a wider position from the start of the game.
  • Hugo Duro hit the back of the net 5 times last season. The striker recovered from an injury to feature for Los Che from the starting whistle. He should start again in this match along with Diego Lopez in the final third. Lopez has started the season well as the 21-year-old has already scored twice so far in the league.
