Camavinga to return, Kepa to start as Real Madrid take on Celta Vigo in La Liga

In-form Real Madrid will face Celta Vigo in midweek encounter of La Liga. Ancelotti is likely to stick with 4-3-1- formation.

Real Madrid Team News: Carlo Ancelotti must be proud of his team’s performance in the first two games. Real Madrid made a fine start in La Liga as they are chasing the top-flight title this season. They have won the first two games with ease and given a clear indication that they are in the hunt for trophies this term. They make their trip to Celta Vigo for the third away game of the season.

In the opening game, Real Madrid beat Athletic Club and they made it again with a 3-1 win over Almeria. Sergio Arribas struck an early goal for Almeria to push them under pressure but Jude Bellingham found an equaliser after 16 minutes to make it 1-1. Real Madrid scored two more goals in the second half to earn three more points, They are at the top of the table now with a better goal difference.

Real Madrid have a better record against Celta Vigo who are coming off an eventful draw against Sociedad, courtesy of an injury-time goal. Los Blancos have overcome the hosts in their last six La Liga games. They beat the Sky Blues 4-1 in the reverse fixture last season. Celta Vigo haven’t beaten Real Madrid in La Liga since May 2014.

Carlo Ancelotti came with the new formation and he had to change the previous one due to the departure of Karim Benzema. They are in search of a new striker but currently, they have two best options – Vinicous Jr and Rodrygo. Ancelotti would stick with 4-3-1-2 and he already found success with it. Jude Bellingham will operate as the advanced midfielder behind Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo. The Englishman has scored three goals in two games so everything is working for the Spaniard.

Real Madrid are facing injury concerns and they have to wait for any recovery of the injured players. Dani Ceballos, Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao, Thibaut Courtois and Arda Guler will not be ready to feature in the away game. Chelsea loanee Kepa Arrizabalaga was signed as the backup for injured Courtois. He was an unused substitute against Almeria in the previous game but Ancelotti is likely to add him in the first XI.

Real Madrid will also welcome the return of Eduardo Camavinga who didn’t start against Almeria due to a muscular problem. It means, Toni Kroos will be dropped down to the bench. Los Blancos is also clear on the role of veteran Luka Modric. The Croatian legend will be tried as a substitute once again.
