Real Madrid have extended the contracts of their two key players, Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga. The midfield duo have agreed on a new contract which will keep them playing at the club for 2028. Both players are vital for the Los Blancos considering their performances.
Valverde signed a six-year contract two years back when his release clause was raised to €1billion. The Uruguay international will increase his salary as part of his new contract. He has added four more years which will keep him at the club till 2028. Valverde has made 215 appearances for Real Madrid. He was signed from Penarol in 2017.
As per the reports of the Athletic, Los Blancos had opened contract talks with Camavinga. He will also increase his salary with his new contract and see his release clause rise to €1bn. The 20-year-old could be a future prospect for Madrid. Camavinga has made 110 appearances for Los Blancos since his move from Rennes in 2021.
As per updates, representatives of his agency came to the Spanish capital to finalise the deal. They also attended the club’s most recent win over Las Palmas. Camavinga was part of the win at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Eder Militao also agreed to the terms last summer, and their deals are yet to be formally announced. Real Madrid will make the announcement of Vinicius Junior which was planned last week but got delayed as Florentino Perez tested positive for COVID-19.
It was expected Real Madrid to extend the contracts of young talent. They got the advantage due to the money they had. They are one of the richest clubs in Europe. They started to set release clauses of €1bn so they can make their transfers safe. It is a safe strategy from Real Madrid.
