Man United are still alive and well in the FA Cup and the Premier League. In the Premier League, they are sitting in the 3rd position in the league table with 59 points acquired from 30 matches. They still have 8 matches left to play in the league and are eyeing to finish within the top 4 spots to qualify for next year’s Champions League. Hence, missing such a key defender at this stage is a stressful issue for Man United.
In the FA Cup, they will be playing against Brighton today and they will be looking to progress to the final. The defending duo Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have been ruled out till the end of the season. Hence, they will be missing this FA Cup match as well. However, reportedly, Man United staff are hopeful that if they manage to progress to the FA Cup final, then Varane will recover and be available for that match on June 3.
