During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the Brazilian superstar had a knee injury. He played a few games for Les Parisiens before electing to have reconstructive surgery on his right knee in Qatar in March. The action was made to avoid a recurrence of the problem in the future. According to L’Equipe (via Get French Football News), Neymar has resumed first-team training at the club’s new training facility in Poissy.

It is unclear whether the 31-year-old will remain in the French city for much longer. In recent months, it has been claimed that PSG are willing to trade him this summer, and he has been connected with a return to Barcelona. Chelsea and Manchester United, on the other hand, are rumoured to be interested.

Barcelona was approached by Neymar’s representatives. However, the Catalan giants declined the transfer for two seasons. For starters, they were apprehensive to accept the 31-year-old’s excessively high pay. Second, they did not want to risk upsetting the peace in their dressing room since they feel the Brazilian will be divisive.

Furthermore, Neymar is under contract at the Parc des Princes for another two years. He had a strong start to the season, scoring 13 goals and assisting 11 more in 20 Ligue 1 outings before suffering an ankle injury in February. PSG may have demanded a high price for him, given that they spent a world-record cost of €222 million to buy him in 2017.
