It seems PSG have finally decided to offload Kylian Mbappe this summer. The French striker has been left out of Paris Saint-Germain’s squad for their pre-season tour of Japan. Popular transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that PSG have put their star striker ‘For Sale’ from today. Earlier, reports claimed that PSG is ready to offer Mbappe a 10-year contract worth €1bn but it is now clear that the board has decided to let the striker go after a frustrating contract standoff.
Reports have claimed that PSG are convinced that Mbappe has signed a pre-deal to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next season. However, the Ligue 1 club is in no mood to let go their star player for free next year and are ready to sell Mbappe this summer.

- August 2017 – Mbappe signs for PSG from Monaco.
- August 2021 – Real Madrid tables a €160m offer for Mbappe, but PSG rejects it and extends his contract with an option to extend for another year.
- May 2022 – Mbappe signs a new three-year extension with PSG, preventing a summer saga.
- June 2023 – Mbappe announces he won’t trigger his one-year contract extension with PSG, raising doubts about his future beyond 2023.
- July 2023 – PSG excluded Mbappe from pre-season squad.
Mbappe vs PSG – Love turned sour
Once PSG’s hero, Kylian Mbappe has now been seen as villain with his recent comments against the French club.
After announcing that he will not renew his contract with PSG, Mbappe in an interview called the Ligue 1 side a ‘diverse’ club.
“I think that playing for PSG doesn’t help much [to win the Ballon d’Or] because it’s a team that divides, a club that divides.”
The comment reportedly did not go down well with six PSG players who later complained to club President Al-Khelaifi.
What’s next for Mbappe?
According to 90min, PSG have placed a €200m asking price on the World Cup winner. However, Real Madrid are unlikely to pay such a huge amount and will only consider making a move for Mbappe if the price tag is lowered to €150m.
