PSG give Kylian Mbappe cold shoulder, remove posters from Parc des Princes

As the Kylian Mbappe saga heats up, PSG removes posters of the French striker from outside the stadium and stops selling his shirts.

PSG appear to have removed Kylian Mbappe posters from Parc des Princes, and club shops in Paris no longer sell his shirt. The reigning Ligue 1 champions’ action exacerbates the sensitive situation surrounding their prized player.

The France international is expected to depart the Ligue 1 winners this summer after refusing to sign a new deal. His current contract is set to expire in 2024. Rather than letting him go for free, the PSG board is attempting to recuperate a sum for him.

However, they are prohibiting him from training with the first squad. Kylian Mbappe was also left out of France’s pre-season tour team. Additionally, PSG appears to be removing posters of their star player that were hung throughout their home stadium. Furthermore, it appears that his name is absent from the kits sold in Parisian club shops.

The 24-year-old is at odds with the club. He is currently being forced to train with the ‘bomb squad,’ a group of PSG misfits. The World Cup winner is expected to sign a contract with Real Madrid beginning in 2024.

The Paris club, on the other hand, wants a big sum for a player worth €250 million (£215 million/$274 million). It remains to be seen whether Mbappe, who previously described PSG as a “divisive” club, will play for them this season, which begins this weekend.

Madrid is unlikely to pay such a high amount for a player they can sign for free in a year’s time. As a result, the standoff between PSG and Mbappe persists, and Madrid’s prospects of getting their star signing improve with each passing day.

PSG will begin their Ligue 1 title defence against Lorient on Saturday, August 12. However, it is unclear whether Mbappe will be included in the squad or if he will stay barred from first-team participation.
