Amrabat-Man Utd saga
The Moroccan international’s impressive display in the FIFA World Cup 2022 has seen many clubs line up for him, but Amrabat seemed to have his heart set on a move to the Red side of Manchester.
Amrabat had reportedly agreed personal terms with the Red Devils since June. He has rebutted offers from several other clubs to wait for United to make their move.
The midfielder hasn’t played for the side in recent matches, adding fuel to the speculation about his move to United.
Man Utd took time to move into the deal after securing other targets first. Fiorentina rejected Utd’s first offer for Amrabat straight off the bat. According to Fiorentina board, the offer deemed ‘not serious enough.’
A private jet to avoid delay
Reports are now emerging about Fiorentina being close to agreeing a loan deal with Manchester United although the former is asking for a considerable loan fee. Both sides remain in the negotiating table.
UK’s The Sun claimed Man Utd have a private jet ready to fly Sofyan Amrabat to Manchester to avoid any deadline day heartbreak. The report is in stark contrast to Man Utd’s treatment of the Amrabat deal. Utd had made a low-blow loan offer which the Fiorentina board didn’t look kindly upon.
The Red Devils feel the transfer of the 28-year-old could add the much-needed depth in midfield. The fans would be hoping Amrabat could spur their team to a title charge. Notably, Utd recently secured the loan signing of Reguilon from Tottenham after the injury to left-back Luke Shaw.
We are all waiting to see how this saga unfolds as the deadline day moves on.
