They were was heavily linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland. Rumors suggest that Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola demanded his client to receive an £820,000-a-week salary while negotiating with Chelsea over a potential move.

According to reports from BILD, the London outfit was discouraged to pursue Haaland after his representative’s demanded Chelsea pay £820,000 per week for the Norwegian striker. The report also goes on to mention how Raiola asked for £34m as agent fees from Chelsea. The 53-year-old is also said to have demanded a separate salary for himself that would take the total value of the transfer up to £275m.
Mino Raiola is amongst a few of the biggest names in the football fraternity with the sports agent managing some of the biggest stars in world football. Alongside Haaland, Raiola handles Manchester United star Paul Pogba amongst other athletes.
His client Erling Haaland has been on a roll since joining Borussia Dortmund. The 21-year-old Norwegian scored 41 goals in 41 matches last season while already finding the back of the next 4 times this campaign. Various clubs including Manchester City, Chelsea, and Real Madrid were rumored to battle out for him in the summer.
Chelsea was also reported to place a cash-plus-player bid for Haaland which was rejected by Dortmund. The Blues later dropped out of negotiations for the Norway striker and went on to sign Romelu Lukaku, bringing the Belgian back to Stamford Bridge. Despite all rumors, Haaland is now likely to stay at Dortmund this season with many top teams set to fight his signature again in 2022.
A report from Bild also reveals that Manchester United is now reportedly the front runner in singing Erling Haaland next summer. The Norwegian is set to see his 64 million release clause kick in following the completion of the ongoing season. Clubs are expected to keep a tab on his situation, looking for an opportunity to sign one of the biggest talents in world football. However, the Red Devils are said to be leading the race due to their relation with Raiola.
The agent has helped Man United acquire the likes of Paul, Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. He shares a great relationship with the Premier League outfit while Haaland also has a good tie with United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The duo spent two years in Norway together when Haaland played for Molde between 2017-2019.
