Premier League: Premier League matches are on the verge of postponing owing to the Larisa Storm spreading chaos across the country. As per reports from the Met Office, Storm Larisa will keep going on Saturday as well. Only around 24 hours left for the matches, the storm is still raging throughout the UK and covering the country in snow and ice along with freezing temperatures. In the last few days, the storm has already hindered regular life by delaying transportation, travel, and more. Additionally, maintaining ground has become troublesome as well.

Most Premier League club grounds have a heating system installed under their ground which helps in melting snow. However, that doesn’t help with the hindrance in travel plans or regular transportation which will affect the fans traveling to the stadium. Even though the Turf Moor stadium has the system installed, still a match between Burnley and Spurs was canceled last season at the stadium for the same reason.

The League Two match that was supposed to be held at the One Call Stadium on Saturday, was called off after a ground inspection. The home team, Mansfield Town put out a statement saying, “Covers have been on the field of play since Sunday, however, due to heavy snowfall and general safety concerns, the referee deemed the pitch unplayable after a 10am pitch inspection.” It further read, “The club was mindful to call a pitch inspection as early as possible to maximise the advance notice for both sets of supporters.”

4 more matches of this matchweek are scheduled to be held on Sunday. Many teams among these have been practicing for their upcoming matches amid the snow. If these matches are to be postponed, there hasn’t been any news for that as of yet.
