Premier League: Chelsea has been on the descent ever since Todd Boehly came on board, one could say. The Blues have not quite clicked this season and have just looked like a shadow of their former selves. Sacking Tuchel has not been fruitful for them as Graham Potter failed to do justice to the decision taken by Boehly. Now, even interim manager Lampard hasn’t won in his first three games. According to reports, after the game against Brighton, Todd Boehly went down to the dressing room and gave an hour-long rant to the players and went after the big-money flops as well. Premier League: New Owner Todd Boehly tears into expensive flops into explosive rant, Hat-trick of defeats test American owner’s patience as continental football seems distant dream – Check outAfter the loss to Brighton, Todd Boehly reportedly went on an hour-long tirade in which he attacked Chelsea’s missteps. Roman Abramovich sold the team to co-owner Boehly for £4.25 billion in May of last year. In his first season, Boehly also spent an additional £600 million on new players.
The Blues, who are currently very far down in 11th place in the Premier League, are on their third manager of the season, now with interim manager Frank Lampard, so it hasn’t yet paid off. During Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Brighton at home, which was Lampard’s third straight setback, Boehly was seen gesturing and appearing to dispute with irate fans from the directors’ box.
The American billionaire spent a full 60 minutes in the dressing room at Stamford Bridge after the game with co-owners Behdad Eghbali and Hansjorg Wyss, another board member.

Todd Boehly’s words to the team
The trio of Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, and Hansjorg Wyss, another board member, let their sentiments be known when Lampard addressed the team, according to The Telegraph. According to reports, Boehly called the team’s present troubles “embarrassing,” saying they fell far short of the board’s standards and expectations, and emphasised that they had spent much on transfers in order to win championships.

One senior player who had recently been signed for a significant sum is claimed to have been singled out by Boehly, with that star allegedly feeling disillusioned and disgruntled, according to The Guardian. The “whole thing was weird,” a source told The Guardian, but Lampard and Kepa Arrizabalaga made an effort to downplay it.
Lampard said, ‘I’m comfortable with Boehly entering the dressing room. There was criticism of our old owner not coming to games, that wasn’t always true. But when an owner is very invested it’s their prerogative to have the input they want, it shows passion.’
Kepa spoke about the same and said, ‘Todd comes to the changing room in every game. He had different chats with us after different games. I am not going to say what he said. It is normal when he came.’
However, it is understood that the co-owner did try to inspire the players with a good ending to his address before the return leg of their Champions League quarterfinal match against Real Madrid. Boehly advised the underwhelming players that getting rid of the holders was their best chance to salvage the season, put a halt to the decay, and finally provide the spectators with something to rejoice about.
