Premier League: Manchester United’s hectic month – After having a wobbly start to the season, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United is set to endure an extraordinarily difficult set of matches from 16th October onwards up until December 1st with them facing all of the traditional big-6 teams in Premier League while facing Atalanta twice and Villareal in a challenging Champions League Group in-between the Premier League games.
This period of matches has been described as one of the hardest periods in recent football history by many. It comes after United has been very sloppy, dropping points while playing against mid-table teams like Aston Villa, Everton, and Young Boys (Champions League) and narrowly escaping in matches against Villareal and West Ham United.

Premier League: Manchester United’s hectic month – Ole Gunar Solskjaer’s Problems have been further aggravated after their new star centre-back Raphael Varane limped off with what looked to be an adductor injury on the 43rd minute versus Spain in the UEFA Nations League Final (Varane’s injury will be assessed this week, with him likely to miss the match versus Leicester) with Harry Maguire already out United would be relying on the largely unused Duo of Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly with Phil Jones among other options, however, some good news for United fans is that Marcus Rashford has completed another training session with the team and is ready to play a part in the game.
VS Leicester City (AWAY) 16th October
United have been scheduled to play Leicester City away on the 16th of October, with Leicester having only 1 win in their last 7 games are still expected to give the Red Devils a tough game. Leicester who defeated United last season might have some respite with the former United defender Jonny Evans, Leicester’s leader in defence having a chance to start versus United.

VS Atalanta (HOME) 21st October
After Leicester, for the 1st time, United will be playing the Italian side Atalanta who’s currently 8th in Serie A before they play Empoli on Sunday. Both Cristiano Ronaldo and United would be eager to get their UCL campaign back on track.
Vs Liverpool (HOME) 24th October
If the Red Devils endured a disappointing result to either Leicester or Atalanta, then the United fan base would be full of negativity. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his team would then be going into arguably the spectacle game of the Premier League under tremendous pressure. With many United fans already “oleout” losing to Liverpool would certainly not help Solskjaer’s case.
United will be playing host to Liverpool on 24th October, with Jurgen Klopp’s men in sensational form at the moment, Liverpool is without a loss this season. Manchester United has come out on top only once out of the last 12 meetings between the two giants in the Premier League.

VS Tottenham Hotspurs (AWAY) 30th October
After Liverpool, United plays Tottenham away on the 30th of October in the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspurs stadium in London, Tottenham themselves have had a shaky start this season but still look to be good enough that on their day can cause any team in the world some problems. Last season former United manager Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham side absolutely demolished Solskjaer’s United, battering them 6-1 at Old Trafford, a score that will go down in Premier League history as one of most embarrassing defeats. However, Solskjaer to some extent got his revenge when he defeated Mourinho in London.
VS Atalanta (AWAY) 3rd November VS Manchester City (HOME) 6th November
Following a trip to Bergamo to face Atalanta in the Champions League, United will be hosting cross city rivals Manchester City on the 6th of November, despite their domestic dominance City have been beaten 4 Times by United in their last 7 meetings, however despite all the previous results Pep’s team would still be favorites to get the job done against United.
VS Watford (AWAY) 20th November and VS Villareal (AWAY) 23rd November
United might be able to get some sort of breathing space after facing City, with them facing the newly promoted Watford, perhaps the easiest game within this difficult period, thereafter they will face a robust Villareal team who were unlucky to be on the losing side when two sides met recently in the Matchday 2 of the Champions League.
VS Chelsea (AWAY) 28th November
Following Villareal would be a trip to the European Champions, Chelsea who current sit at the top of Premier League despite having some shaky performances before the international break. Chelsea who has been stunning since Thomas Tuchel took over, Chelsea has been as the German wanted “become the most difficult/uncomforting team to play against.”
VS Arsenal (HOME) 1st December
After Chelsea, United will play another Londoner – Arsenal, who has lately discovered some sort of form with victories in 4 of their last 5 matches, after key players Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes came back from injury. Arsenal have always proved to be a tricky opponent for United, with United only taking 1 point from a possible 6 last season. However, it will be a good opportunity for Cristiano Ronaldo to renew his rivalry with Chelsea. During his first stint with United, CR7 had excellent record against the Blues.
United and Solskjaer would be hoping that their star-studded big hitters Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandez, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Edinson Cavani and soon Jadon Sancho could start firing at all cylinders and perform together as team, or else things could get really ugly for Solskjaer, with extraordinary coaches like Zinedine Zidane and Antonio Conte without a club.
