Premier League LIVE: Man City go 2nd after beating Everton 3-0; Rodri scores a worldie; Assist of the season by Cancelo – Man City move to second place, 3 points behind Chelsea after beating Everton by 3 goals.

Rodri scored a screamer from outside the box as the ball travelled into the top corner. Joao Cancelo’s assist for Sterling’s first goal might be a Assist of the Season contender already. Bernado Silva rounded up City’s scoring spree by adding a third goal. For all the LIVE Premier League action follow InsideSport.in

Scorers: Sterling 44′, Rodri 55′, Bernardo Silva 86′

Manchester City moved back within three points of league leaders Chelsea with a win over Everton on Sunday.

Everton were dealt a blow in the 17th minute when Demarai Gray had to go off injured, and Alex Iwobi came on to replace him.

City dominated the opening stages and were then awarded a penalty when referee Stuart Atwell deemed Michael Keane had fouled Sterling inside the box. But after reviewing the incident on the VAR monitor, the decision was overturned and City didn’t even get a free-kick.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 44th minute, when Sterling latched onto an outrageous outside-of-the-boot pass from João Cancelo and finished brilliantly for 1-0.

Into the second half and City went 2-0 up with an even better goal, when Rodri almost ripped the net off with a rocket into the top corner from 25-yards.

Sterling then had the chance to wrap up the three points when Kyle Walker found him completely unmarked with a low cross, but the England winger tried to be too clever and Jordan Pickford was able to smother the ball.

But Bernardo Silva did then seal the victory when he tapped in from close range after Cole Palmer’s shot had deflected into his path. That’s now six Premier League games without a win for the Toffees. For all the LIVE Premier League action follow InsideSport.in
