English Premier League has launched the tender process to distribute the rights to the English top-tier club football in 50 countries the world over.

Since last week, Premier League has announced three invitation to tenders (ITT) covering a total of 50 territories in the Caribbean; Central and South America; and German-speaking countries in Europe.

The ITT for German-speaking territories, released on September 7, covers Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Switzerland. October 1 is the last date to submit the bids for the rights covering three seasons spanning 2019-20 to 2021-22.

Rights are currently held by Perform-owned OTT platform DAZN, in a three-season deal, from 2016-17 to 2018-19.

Two further ITT’s, for rights in the same 2019-22 cycle, were sent to interested parties in Central and South America and the Caribbean, with bids due in the second week of October. The bids can be made for either territory or both.

The rights in the Central and South America region are currently held by pay-television broadcasters DirecTV Latin America (in South America) and Sky Mexico (Central America and the Dominican Republic.)

The Premier League Caribbean rights are currently owned by telco Cable & Wireless Communications, which won the competitive tender process for about 860% hike in the Premier League rights value.
