The 28-year-old English attacker will finally be involved in a match-day squad after missing out on Spurs’ first league match. Harry Kane failed to report back to pre-season training earlier this month on time which forced the Englishman to miss out on 2 club games. The 28-year-old was not available for Spurs’ first match against City and Europa Conference match again Pacos de Ferriera.
Harry Kane will be hoping to be on the bench on Sunday and make his first appearance for Spurs this season. He is rumored to be keen on featuring for the London side again, despite opting for a move away from the club in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Spurs skipper has been pushing for a move to Manchester City with the reigning Premier League champions also interested in him. Pep Guardiola is a big fan of Harry Kane and wants to acquire his services with Man City also bidding 120 m for him.
Despite pushing for a move away, Kane has expressed his desire to play for Spurs. The club captain wants to end his relationship with the club on a good note after being criticized for going absent. He also had to share a social media post on Instagram after the clubs’ fans starting to abuse him on social media.
Kane said: “I wouldn’t do anything to jeopardise the relationship I have with the fans who have given me such unwavering support during my time with the club.”
Being part of the matchday squad shows positive signs for Spurs. However, the club will also not be too happy following Kanes’ return as City remain interested in him.
The Premier League champions are looking at ways they could fund a deal for Harry Kane. However, the £160million price tag has been a massive problem for City who already spent 100 million on Jack Grealish. It remains interesting to see how City, who already bid around the £120m try and rope in Harry Kane in the last 10 days of the summer transfer window.
