Premier League: Former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe appointed as new Newcastle United manager: After a lot of speculation Newcastle United have appointed former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe as their new manager. The Englishman will replace Steve Bruce at the St. James Park as he is tasked to resurrect the current Premier League campaign for the Magpies.
Newcastle United are set to embark on a new mission under the leadership of new owners. The Magpies were taken over by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund company recently after they formed a consortium. Therefore Howe will have a lot of responsibility to take Newcastle to greater heights. The English tactician has signed on the dotted lines and his contract will run till 2024.
“I was assured from minute one that the owners wanted me as part of any management team that comes in. I am delighted. We will have to see what the future holds but hopefully I will still be here,” said Eddie Howe after signing the dotted lines.

Newcastle United are languishing at the bottom of the Premier League points table. They are currently in the 19th position and are the only club without a win in this campaign. They are tied with bottom placed Norwich City at five points and are favourites to get relegated. Howe has been appointed for his laurels with Bournemouth in the past and the young tactician will be vested with the responsibility of turning the tables for Magpies.
The 43-year-old has been out of a job since he left Bournemouth in August 2020 after the south-coast club were relegated from the Premier League on the final day of the season.
