Premier League – Ronaldo No. 7 jersey: Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo created a storm after he sealed a fairytale return to Manchester United signing a two-year deal with the Premier League giants. The Portuguese legend’s transfer sent shockwaves and fans have gone berserk ever since the Red Devils announced that the 36-year-old will wear his iconic No.7 shirt. The replica shirt has broken sales records with manufacturer Adidas struggling to meet the demand in just 12 hours after the announcement. However, while the demand for the shirt grows, it is unlikely to pay for Man United’s move to bringing Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

Premier League: Cristiano Ronaldo No. 7 jersey break all sales records for Manchester United

Premier League – Ronaldo No. 7 jersey: As per reports, Cristiano Ronaldo No.7 kit has already broken the record for most shirt sales just days after it was announced he would don his iconic number. LovetheSales.com reports that fans collectively splashed out a whopping £32.5m on the jersey in just 12 hours of the kit releasing. The website tracks sales data from over 1,000 UK online retailers. It is believed that the club sold 295,500 shirts and 406,250 shirts between that period, making it the Premier League’s top-selling jersey ahead of Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.

Premier League – Ronaldo No. 7 jersey: However, while the notion exists that shirt sales alone will pay alone could pay off his mega move to Man United. The Red Devils’ association with Adidas meant that the Premier League giants will only bag as much as 10 per cent of the revenue from shirt sales. Manchester United signed a decade-long deal with Adidas worth £750m in 2014. Experts believe that Man United’s cut from the shirt will be closer to a maximum of £5 per shirt despite the kits costing anywhere from 80 pounds to 110 pounds.

Premier League – Ronaldo No. 7 jersey: Should the figures be accurate, Manchester United will only bag close to £2 million from the shirt sales, busting those claims of the sales paying for Ronaldo’s initial £13m move, which could rise to £19m through add-ons. And while, the shirt revenues will be minuscule in terms of Manchester United as a brand, the return of Cristiano Ronaldo offers the executives at Old Trafford to beef up their brand value and result in a greater share of revenue from sponsorships and brands.
