Martin Odegaard featured in over 20 games for Arsenal last season impressing team head coach Mikel Arteta. The Gunners were keen to re-acquire the 22-year-old and have finally added him back to their squad in this transfer window.
Martin Odegaard to Arsenal: How much transfer fee did the Gunners pay to Real Madrid?
Arsenal is reportedly paying a fee of around £34m to the La Liga side for their 22-year-old midfielder. Both the clubs had been in constant touch regarding negotiations in the last few days.
Martin Odegaard’s transfer from Real Madrid to Arsenal was also one of the main reasons why the Norway international was not included in Los Blancos’ squad in their first match of the season against Alavés last week.
He has been in London since the last week and underwent medicals on Wednesday before being officially announced as an Arsenal player ahead of their Premier League clash against Chelsea.

The Norway international had agreed on personal terms with Gunners and signed a five-year deal with them. He is expected to remain with the Emirates outfit until 2026 after returning to north London on a permanent basis. With the official announcement coming by midday on Friday the Gunners will also be able to field Odegaard against Chelsea on Sunday.
