Premier League: Arsenal grab 1st win of the season, Aubameyang scores to beat Norwich 1-0 – Mikel Arteta will breathe a sigh of relief after getting the first win of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign. Arsenal defeated Norwich City at the Emirates as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored in the 66th minute to get the first 3 points in the new season.

Mikel Arteta’s side lost their opening three Premier League games to Brentford, Chelsea, and Manchester City and was at the bottom of the table with Norwich before today’s game.

Arsenal enjoyed possession in the first half but they struggled to find an opening.

Senegalese Pepe had an opportunity to put Arsenal ahead right before halftime after Bukayo Saka’s shot was deflected into his path but Brandon Williams slid across to stop it from entering the net.

However, their first goal of the new season came in the 66th minute when Aubameyang netted the ball to take all the 3 points. It was a scrappy goal as the ball struck the post twice and VAR came into the picture to allow that goal.

Pepe took two shots at goal with one being saved and the other hitting off the post and into the path of Aubameyang who hit it into the net.

Norwich had a few good chances after the Arsenal goal to equal proceedings with Teemu Pukki coming closest but they were unable to score.
