Goncalo Ramos scored his second goal, an instinctive tap-in this time. Ramos snatched the ball near the post and finished Dalot’s low cross to beat Swiss keeper Sommer.

With a brilliant finish, the youngster completed his hat trick. Joao Felix provided another assist, this time slipping Ramos in with an easy pass. Ramos then gently dinked the ball over the outrushing Swiss keeper Sommer to put Portugal up 5-1.

Ramos, who has 20 goals in 45 games for his club Benfica, was named to Portugal’s roster for the FIFA World Cup 2022 and made his debut. Ramos is also the league’s leading scorer, with nine goals in 11 appearances. He progressed through the ranks after joining Benfica’s junior system and has established himself as one of the senior team’s key players. The attacker demonstrated that he deserved to start ahead of Ronaldo.
