Poland vs England: England continues their unbeaten streak in Group D after a 1-1 draw against Poland in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers- Poland scored an injury-time equalizer to shut down England’s perfect start to World Cup qualification and secure an important point at home. Gareth Southgate’s side had a perfect record in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers until now. However, they still remain unbeaten in their 6 games.

England scored first through Harry Kane’s long-range effort in the 72nd minute before Sebastian Szymanski struck in the 92nd minute to earn Poland an incredible draw.

England failed to trouble Wojciech Szczesny in goal in the 1st half and struggled to create chances. However, the hosts’ main threat Robert Lewandowski was also kept silent in the starting 45 minutes as he was restricted to one half-chance, which was tidily dealt with by Jordan Pickford.

England moved things up after the 1st 45 minutes with Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling disturbing Poland but, just like the 1st half, they failed to cause Szczesny any concern. That was until the 72nd minute when Kane’s powerful, swerving shot flew past the former Arsenal goalkeeper from 32 yards out to put England in front.

Poland looked short of ideas in response but was almost gifted an equalizer by Pickford, whose clearance was chased down by substitute Karol Swiderski, but the Everton goalkeeper recovered to stop the ball from crossing the line.

Then, when England looked to be seeing the game out, a Lewandowski cross was headed home by Szymanski to stun England and grab a point for Poland.
