Sunil Chhetri, captain of the Indian national team, is an Indian professional footballer who was born on August 3, 1984, in Secunderabad, India. He is a striker for the Indian national team and Bengaluru FC, an Indian club. He holds the record for most caps (150) and goals (94)  scored for the India national team. Chhetri began his professional career at Mohun Bagan in 2002. He later played for JCT, the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer. Chhetri was signed by Mumbai City for Rs. 1.2 crores during the 2015 Indian Super League auctions, making him the most expensive Indian player. With Bengaluru, Chhetri thrived as he lifted trophies including I-League (2014, 2016), ISL (2019), and Super Cup (2018).
