Erling Haaland was named the Players’ Player of the Year, while Bukayo Saka clinched the Young Player of the Year award at the PFA Awards 2023 on Tuesday.
The Norweign striker dominated English football in his debut season, scoring 52 goals in just 51 matches for Manchester City.

Haaland became the first foreign player since Ruud van Nistelrooy in the 2001–02 season to win the accolade in his first Premier League season.
The 23-year-old displayed merciless efficiency in front of goal. He scored five goals against RB Leipzig in the Champions League and four hat-tricks in league play. He was named PFA Fans’ Player of the Month in August 2022, September 2022, and December 2022 due to his popularity among fans.
Along with Treble honours for City, Haaland took home the European Golden Shoe, the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year, Premier League Player of the Season, Premier League Young Player of the Season, Premier League Golden Boot, UEFA Champions League Top Scorer, as well as Manchester City’s Player of the Season.
Bukayo Saka of Arsenal won Young Player of the Year. For the first time after being nominated for the previous four seasons, Saka has now been declared the winner. The Arsenal and England player played a significant role in helping Arsenal win the league and qualify for the Champions League again.
In the Premier League, Saka had a career-high 14 goals and 11 assists while playing a key role. As a result of his three goals during England’s World Cup campaign in Qatar, the teenage winger’s status increased even more.
