Manchester City vs Inter: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola revealed that he received a message from Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson on the evening of the Champions League final. Pep Guardiola’s Man City completed a famous treble after defeating Inter 1-0 in Champions League final on Sunday.
Manchester City repeated what Alex Ferguson’s Man United did 24 years back. City became the second side in England’s football history to win a Treble.

The previous treble achievement came in 1999 when Sir Alex Ferguson guided Man United to glory. The Red Devils won the Premier League and FA Cup, followed by the Champions League title where they beat Bayern Munich in the final.
While talking to the press post-match, the Man City manager revealed that Man United legend Ferguson had been in touch ahead of the UCL final.
“It’s an honour for me to be alongside Sir Alex Ferguson. I got a message from him this morning. It touched me. It was nice,” Guardiola said.
Alex Ferguson faced Pep Guardiola twice during his magaerial career and both times Guardiola defeated the Man United legend. Man City boss was in charge of Barcelona when his side beat Man United in the 2009 and 2011 Champions League finals.
Earlier, Man United had the chance to spoil the party for Man City when both sides locked horns in FA Cup final at Wembley. Pep Guardiola’s side beat Erik ten Hag’s men 2-1 in the final to win the second trophy of the season.
