Paul Pogba could return to Juventus training soon after drugs ban ‘reduced’

Paul Pogba’s career has been marked by highs and lows, and this doping ban was one of the lowest points.

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, who has been facing a doping suspension, may soon return to training with Juventus after his ban was reduced. Initially handed a four-year suspension, the 31-year-old Frenchman could be back on the football pitch sooner than expected, with his ban now reportedly shortened to 18 months.

Ban Reduced to 18 Months for Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba’s original ban, imposed after failing a drugs test, was set to last four years, which could have marked the end of his professional football career. The suspension came with a hefty fine and left Pogba devastated.

However, according to recent reports, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has granted Pogba’s appeal, reducing the ban to 18 months. This adjustment opens the possibility for Pogba to return to training as early as January 2025.

Paul Pogba’s response

When the initial verdict was announced, Pogba took to social media, expressing his heartbreak and disbelief. “I am sad, shocked, and heartbroken that everything I have built in my professional playing career has been taken away from me,” Pogba wrote. He strongly denied any intentional wrongdoing, stating that he had never knowingly consumed any substances that violated anti-doping regulations.

Pogba promised that once he was free from legal restrictions, he would share the full story, indicating that there might be more to his case than initially revealed.

Return to Juventus in sight for Paul Pogba

While Pogba’s suspension keeps him off the field for now, the reduced sentence suggests he could be back in action by March 2025. With training resuming in January, Juventus fans might see Pogba return to the squad just a few months later, offering a significant boost to the team’s midfield.

Will Paul Pogba play for Juventus?

Paul Pogba’s career has been marked by highs and lows, and this doping ban was one of the lowest points. Yet, with the reduction of his suspension, there is renewed hope for the player to make a comeback.

Juventus, currently navigating through various challenges, could greatly benefit from Pogba’s return as they look to regain dominance in both domestic and European competitions.
