Pablo Mari stabbed: Arsenal star Pablo Mari, who is on loan to Serie A club A.C. Monza, was among five people who were attacked at Carrefour supermarket in Milan on Thursday. The five people were attacked at random at around 06:30PM local time after he grabbed a knife from a supermarket shelf. Mari was airlifted from the scene and is currently hospitalized. According to various media reports, a 30-year-old staff member of the supermarket died due to cardiac arrest after being attacked on chest and abdomen. Three other victims were seriously injured while one was treated for shock but not hospitalised.

The 46-year-old Italian man, whose identity is still to be revealed, was arrested by the local police at the supermaket in Assago, a suburb of Milan.

What was Pablo Mari’s condition after the attack? – Mari was at the supermarket with his wife and son when he was attacked, He was in ‘serious condition’ soon after the incident took place but after early diagnosis Premier League Club Arsenal confirmed that he his injury was not serious.

“Our thoughts are with Pablo Mari and the other victims of today’s dreadful incident in Italy. We have been in contact with Pablo’s agent who has told us he’s in hospital and is not seriously hurt,” Arsenal said in a statement.

Monza club CEO Adrian Galliano, meanwhile, wished him speedy recovery. “Pablo Mari is not in danger as his injuries are not life-threatening. We hope to see him back soon”.

“Dear Pablo, we are all here close to you and your family, we love you, keep fighting as you know how to do, you are a warrior and you will get well soon.”

The supermarket chain expressed their sympathy to the families and loved ones of the victims who were attacked in the dreadful incident.
