Monaco GP: Formula 1: Tennis legend Novak Djokovic will go head-to-head with Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc ahead of the Monaco GP. The two-sport icons will battle it out in a celebrity football match in Monaco next week. F1 paddock has reached Europe with first race in Imola followed by the next two in Monaco and Spain. Due to threatening weather, the first of the three races got cancelled, making Monaco GP the first and most anticipated European race. It is scheduled between 25-28th May. However, apart from the race weekend, fans are gearing up for another prominent event next week in Monte Carlo. Monaco’s famous Stade Louis II stadium will host the highly anticipated World Stars Football Match. Djokovic will appear for the Children MC team, taking on the All-Stars Drivers Team. The Serb is coming after an upsetting campaign at the Italian Open. He was outplayed by Dane Holger Rune confirming his exit from the tournament.
This game will help him blow off some steam, as the World No. 1 was even seen losing his cool on certain incidents throughout the tournament. He will be facing some of the most prominent up-and-coming F1 names during his outing on the football field this week.

Charles Leclerc, Fernando Alonso, Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly amongst expected F1 names
Undoubtedly, homeboy Charles Leclerc will be a part of the esteemed drivers team. Till now, he is having a season to forget on the track. The Ferrari man has had a season derailed by reliability issues and repeated crashes. In the 5 races so far, he is already in a mammoth deficit to championship leading, thus arguably kissing his title dreams goodbye.
Now, the Monegasque is returning to his home for the most important race. Leclerc is yet to win his home GP in F1, and he will be on mode push to come as close as possible next weekend. However, before that, he will be seen kicking the football around in the friendly match on Tuesday. While Lisa Battaglia and Flavio Roma will join Djokovic, Leclerc will get company from Pierre Gasly, Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz, as per the reports.
